One hopes to never hear the word ‘cancer’, but this was the 3rd time for Colleen to hear it. On
January 8th, 2018, it was confirmed (after the CA125 blood test and a C-T scan) that cancer had
returned – this time to the liver and spleen. Several options were looked at, and again it was
decided that a 9-week cycle of chemotherapy (Paxataxol) would be used to fight the cancer
cells in her body.
While there are always lots of questions as to why cancer again would return, after a successful fight in 2014 with ovarian cancer, there is a place where one should either put trust in the Creator of the Universe or decide to go it on your own. It does not help to get angry and bitter, but to look for solutions. In Colleen’s case, with the help of her family, friends and global church family, it was decided to fight – to fight with God at her side.
This blog will once again, be a diary of events and feelings while going through the cancer journey. It is a way to keep others abreast of happenings to pray more effectively. It is a way to keep in touch with the ups and downs of the roller coaster ride of emotions, and to share how God abides with us through the good days and challenging days.
It is to be a living testimony of God’s goodness and love! One does not know about tomorrow, but He does and is always there for us.
