Abundance!

Today was scheduled for chemotherapy day.  All set and psyched for this second round...packed bag with warm quilt, water, i-pad, slippers, and meds. All set, in my chair, blood taken, and feet cozy...then, the news "they are not going to give your treatment today". What? Did I hear right? True - NO chemo. My white blood cell count was too low at .08 when it should have been 1.5 minimum.  Yes, a change is made for next Monday, when there is time to let my cell count rise and the body recoup.  An injection is scheduled to assist the bone marrow to increase my white cell count to an acceptable rate for treatment.

Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.

Disappointed and crushed, God again puts someone in my path to encourage me. Waiting to see the doctor about the game plan, I sit beside a woman waiting for her second last chemo session. Her chat and encouragement, a breath of fresh air, the little ray of sunshine that turned my sadness into gratefulness -- to be there supported, for medical care, amongst people walking the same road, filled with hope for tomorrow, grand children, Easter, trips, and life...just life.

John 10:10b "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Easter Monday, and Easter weekend - powerful!  Amazing family time, triumphant church service, King of Kings, reminding that life has been given - sacrificially and freely.  What am I to do with this gift? Love those who love me OR don't? Jesus, despised and crucified has taught me much -- to not be disappointed in people or circumstance, but to face forward, knowing there is victory ahead. Abundant life is what I want, daily a student, learning and working through disappointments -- dying to self.  Abundance of purpose and character -- abundance of meaning and life.

"Life is short, live it.
Love is rare, grab it.
Anger is bad, dump it.
Fear is awful, face it.
Memories are sweet, cherish it."
