The appointment with the doctor went very well. Lots of news - good especially. Chemotherapy was certainly effective -- specifically quoting --"marked dramatic interval improvement" suggesting "significant response to therapy". This is truly a praise moment! Ovaries are clear, pelvic free fluid and abdomen mass down from 11.7 cm to 3.0 cm which is HUGE progress -- thanks to a multitude of prayer warriors, emotional and psychological support from friends, family, and pro-active therapy. The medical care has been exceptional and am thankful to access it. These are God things!
In the meantime, we are preparing as a family for this step. It is a big undertaking and will require up to a week in the hospital, then 6-8 weeks of recovery. Mmm. This is a long time. Once again tho', trusting God for each single step of this unchartered journey is vital! Already He has shown how He cares and transforms sickness, disease, and ugliness into wholeness.
What is next after surgery will be know afterwards. But for now, His hand clasped firmly around mine, strength on strength -- gently beckons onward. The future is not mine to know but His.
The Lord Himself goes before
You and will be with you;
He will never leave you nor
forsake you.
Do not be afraid;
do not be discouraged.
Deut. 31:8
My husband will cross the ocean to be by my side. Again, we are so appreciative of those who have stood with us, supporting and caring for extra needs. We are blessed to be in this extended, large family that has one specific goal and that is to pray, support, love and uplift. We are so grateful!
Ann Voskamp quotes in her book, 1000 Gifts, (from G.K Chesterton) -
"Here dies another day
During which I have had eyes, ears, hands
And the great world round me;
And with tomorrow begins another.
Why am I allowed two?"
God has graced me with more days with which to praise and love Him, along with others who are upholding me. Thank you -- thank you!
Blessings to each and everyone of you -- "May He keep you; make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you..." Numbers 6: 24,25
Thanks for sharing your fantastic news. Prayer is always the answer and there have certainly been many prayers said for you and your family. Looking forward to whatever else God has in store for you all. Blessings....daily.... Janice B

ReplyDeleteDear Colleen,
ReplyDeleteit was so good to here about the success of the chemotherapy and we pray for you and your doctors every day to give you strengh and wisdom specially on the 10th june. When you will read this the operation will be passed and you are on your way of recovery.
To encourage you I want to tell you of a good friend who was diagnosed with cancer of the overies eight years ago. Even when the doctors didn`t expect her to survive her illness that long she is still alive. She can`t t do everything but still a lot of things and she is still enjoying her life and thanking God for his help in all the times of therapy.
We all know that we are in God`s hands and He decides when it`s time to go home for all of us. So we trust in Him who is the master and all the doctors are just his instruments.
I wish you that you sense Gods presence on your journey and that will keep up your moral and strengh.
