V stands for Victory! November 22, 2014

What a day! Celebrate God's faithfulness with me!

"This is a time of abundance in your life.
Your cup runneth over with blessings.
After plodding uphill for many weeks,
You are now traipsing through lush meadows
Drenched in warm sunshine.
I want you to enjoy to the full this time
Of ease and refreshment. I delight in providing it for you."
- excerpt from Jesus Calling

The time has come for me to realize that I am done - done with these weekly appointments - the hanging on of chemical bags, long IV tubes and the drugged Benedryl sleeps. The last chemotherapy treatment is done. I am overwhelmed and grateful for this! What an emotional roller coaster ride this has been -- oh yes, not over yet as bones still ache deeply and medications are part of a daily routine.... but this is combined with high elation of knowing all of this has been worth it. The C125 count is down to 5.9 -- showing that cancerous cells are being wiped away...Celebrate and clap wearied but steady hands -- for the joy of the Lord is my strength! Hosanna! Hosanna to the highest!

The walk through the valley of the shadow of death is part of the past and the future is looking bright. I am excited and ready for what lies ahead... HOPE and GRACE are there opening arms wide to embrace and encourage me forward. Friends and family, peers and co-workers cheer me on, lavishing love upon this tired but applauding frame. How can thanks ever be enough? The prayers lifted high, encouraging words written down, compassionate hugs and whispered inspiration.... yes, you were there for me through good and bad and my heart is eternally grateful!

After unhooking from the IV, I eagerly stand up to ring the bell - this symbolic moment of hope and strength that is done by chemo patients all over.... the joy released into the air with each clang, encouraged on by loved ones and clinic staff alike -- was a moment of purest delight!

"But for you that honor my name, victory will shine like the sun with healing in its rays, and you will jump around like calves at play." Malachi 4:2 CEV

Continue to pray and lift up those who are in the cancer fight for there are many.... we need each other - those to lean onto and others to hold up high!
